I used to be a blogger....hmmmm

I used to be a blogger many moons ago!  I enjoyed it and used it as an outlet to get my message out and to share my life with others near and far!  I started blogging in 2006 and now that I look back on all of my old posts, I wish I had never stopped!  I look back at all of the stories about my kids and pets and struggles we had.  It makes me smile, it makes me sad, it makes me laugh, it makes me cry!

My kids are growing up so fast.

Ryan is 23 now and is stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC.  He is married and oh so happy!  His wife is the most adorable young lady and they are so in love!  They have 3 fur babies and I can't wait until they are able to move back to Beaufort!

Jessica is a Senior at Beaufort High School this year and I am oh so proud of her!  She has become a very strong, independent and passionate young lady!  She sings in Voices and plays on the Varsity Softball Team at BHS.  She was a Beaufort Water Festival Pirette for 2 years her freshman and sophomore year.  (Just like her momma!)  I'm sad that she is at the end of her high school career, but excited to see where her future lies!

Jordan is a Sophomore at Beaufort High School.  She has a aire about her that is sweet and quirky!  She is one of the funniest people I know.  She keeps me in stitches with her serious, yet funny humor.  She is set in her ways and that's all!  She is on the JV Softball team at BHS.  She was also a Water Festival Pirette this past summer.  I am excited to see where she is headed in her life!

Jackson is in the 8th grade at Beaufort Middle School.  He loves sports and plays football for BMS for the 2nd year.  He plays travel baseball for a team that his uncle coaches, Beaufort Beast.  He loves baseball and hopes to play for the middle school this spring.  He is my love!  He still kisses me and tells me he loves me every morning when I dropped him off.  He says he will always do that but we shall see!  He keep me on my toes that is for sure!

Lizzie is a Sophomore at her high school in Illinois.  She is a spunky young lady.  She comes and spend the summers with us and most long holidays.  She and Jessica are very similar, you would think that they were real sisters instead of step sisters!  She is strong willed and animated and is set in her ways!  She loves her brothers and sisters just like they were blood.  I guess that's not hard since she has been in our lives since she was born.  Her and Jordan are tight as a tick when she is here and that makes my heart smile!

Those 5 kids are my heart and I love them more than they will ever know!

Tony and I finally got married last summer on July 1, 2012.  He is my best friend!  I cannot imagine my life without him in it!  He supports me in ALL that I do.  He works hard to provide for our family.  I know that it is tough to be a step parent and he claims it like a rock star.  He cooks and takes care of all of the household duties and I love that about him!  He loves baseball and college football!  We look forward to watching our Carolina Gamecocks on Saturdays this time of the year.  Then come January, we look forward to watching American Idol together!  I am finally exactly where I am supposed to be!  I love my life!

BHS JV Softball- Wando Tourney

Yesterday was an amazing day for my Jessica! The BHS JV Lady Eagles had a softball tournament in Charleston. Although they didn't win any games she played amazing! I am so proud of her! She hit a home run against Summerville and got the All Tournament Team plaque. I love you Jess and you continue to impress me everyday! xoxo

Busy, Busy, Busy

That's what my life is right now, Busy!

Carolina Rags is pretty steady right now! I just ordered tons of new fabric and I am ready to make some new, pretty things. My favorite fabric I ordered looks like this...
I can't wait to make a diaper bag out of this. It's gonna be so sweet! Isn't this the greatest pattern?! I also ordered this one...

I thought it would make an adorable diaper bag for a boy...whatcha think?
Besides all of this going on, my girls are both playing softball for their schools. Jordan at BMS and Jess at BHS. Tomorrow Jess has a game in Bluffton, and of course we are going! I love this time of the year! Jackson had his baseball assessments last week, so here we go!
Ryan is still in Afghanistan and I miss him so much! He calls about every 2 weeks. I can't wait until he comes home, for 2 reasons. 1. I miss him and am ready for him to be home safe and sound! 2. I will be getting married to the love of my life and Ryan will be walking me down the aisle (or whatever)!
I guess pretty soon I will need to start planning our wedding! It's gonna be very simple with just family and close friends (which is probably about 150 ppl)! But it's gonna be very casual and laid back and I can't wait!!
So, until next time...Happy Spring y'all!

Where I Am From....

I wrote this several years ago and just came across it again and I wanted to share it. Hope you enjoy it!

I am from a peaceful, small lowcountry river town; from shrimp and grits
and ketchup breakfasts.

I am from a small home with a large family, dirt roads and barefeet, kick the can under the street light, three wheelin' down the deep hole, gas in the ear.

I am from trawlers and baby goats and Rainbow Brite and Rick Springfield posters; from Brownie uniforms and Halloween carnivals taking 1st place dressed as a 2 headed person with my best friend Marci.

I am from Sunday morning church, big deep dimples and pear trees;
from old weathered Bibles of those gone ahead and trips with my MaMa
to visit my cousins.

From Little Miss Sunbeam, Happy Rain and Romper Room...I see___; from Wizard of Oz coming on TV once a year and snuggling up in my PJ's to watch with the rest of my family.

I am from Southern Baptists and organists; from ordained pastors and pot-luck dinners every week.

I'm from Graves and the land of cotton, Dixieland, peach cobbler and shrimp and gravy.

From the World War II veteran with lots of stories to tell; and the candy man in the big red van with lots of candy to share.

I am from beaches and lighthouses, treehouses and zip glides; from docks and crab pots, marshes and oyster beds.

I am from God, I am a child of His.

Southern Savers

I have started extreme couponing over the past couple on months. Today I went to Bi Lo and spent $71 and saved $134. How awesome is that? Tomorrow morning after I drop the kids off at choir practice, I will head over to Publix and see what I can do there. I don't have too much to get at Publix, only a few things that I just can't pass up! It amazes me that more people don't use coupons. AND, it amazes me that certain people get sooo aggravated with people who do use them. Oh well, I try to go when it isn't very busy, so as not to disturb other people.

So, this is the blog I go to to get all my secret deals! Shhhh, don't tell anyone else!
